Going to Carnegie Hall to see the Orpheus Orchestra was a more fantastic experience than I could have ever imagined. Waiting for the show to begin, I felt a palpable wave of anxious energy wash over me; I couldn't wait for the cascade of music that was so close. As soon as the first piece began I was entranced, and enthralled; I simply couldn't look away. It felt like I was watching a single fluid body in perfect, synchronous motion, rather than a collection of brilliant musicians in an orchestra. I enjoyed the first and third pieces more than the second piece, simply because I felt that it was overly dissonant for the sake of being dissonant. Also, as soon as I heard them announce they would be playing Beethoven's fifth, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the final piece to begin. When Beethoven's fifth began, I was simply astounded by its beauty and fluid harmony. Going to Carnegie Hall to see the world-famous Orpheus Orchestra was a phenomenal experience for me, one that I doubt can ever be duplicated.

This was one of the best concerts we have ever been to. Although we did not love the second piece, the Rossini Overture and Beethoven's Symphony were exceptionally beautiful. Before that night we had never heard of Rossini, but now we are big fans! We listened to the piece five times when we got home. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to hear such wonderful music!

Orpheus was a new experience for me. I have never before been to a live classical concert and this trip really showed me the impact of music on culture, I enjoyed listening to classical music live and was thrilled to listen to Beethoven’s Fifth. I thought that Orpheus did a good job in conveying the height of musical ingenuity and professionalism. After this trip I think that I would like to go to more concerts just like this one.
